What remains after desire is trace

The people I meet do not simply pass through my life unnoticed.

 

Just as some encounters leave memories, impressions and reflections within the people I meet, they also leave traces within me. New emotions, new thoughts, strange moments, unexpected tenderness, absurdity, beauty, tension, humor and desire.

 

I often reflect on these meetings, travels and adventures through drawing.

 

Each drawing corresponds to a specific encounter, person or dynamic — sometimes literally, sometimes emotionally, sometimes more abstractly. They are not portraits, but impressions. Fragments of moods, energies and memories translated into shapes, colors and strange little worlds.

In a way, this gallery is a map of the many people and moments that have passed through my life.

 

Occasionally, I gift these drawings afterwards as a private memory of the encounter, especially to people with whom I shared longer travels, adventures or particularly memorable moments.
